l Integrated Network Management system, Jan. 2001-June 2002
We developed a web based network management system (NMS) for integrated management of all ZTE telecommunication devices, such as routers, soft switch, ATM switches, network access servers, etc. The challenge is to provide a uniform, robust, and scalable structure for various devices with different properties. I had been the technical leader through this project working out solutions for various customer requirements.
Our development tool was based on AdventNet Web NMS, an excellent and industry-leading platform for building custom management system.
l Network Management System / SNMP Agent for ZTE Network Access Server, Sept. 2000-Jan. 2001
We developed a client/server based NMS for ZTE network access server. It supports standard management functions like fault, performance and account management. Some other specific functions include online/history information for dial-up users. My responsibility was the development of server-side program control structure, client side topology generation and account management.
Before involved in the NMS project, I spent some time developing an SNMP agent.
l Carrier-grade IP telephone system, May 2000-Sept. 2000
The first project I worked on is the IP phone system built upon ZTE switch. My responsibility was to develop a value added service in support of call waiting and forwarding. The software was developed using the RADVISION¡¯s H.323 Protocol Toolkits

In this project, we tried to integrate IP phone with call center. I did some preliminary work on exploiting the use of Microsoft Telephony Application Programming Interfaces (TAPI ) and CT media.
l DMR4 Project
This project was sponsored by Dialogic Co., a leading voice hardware provider later incorporated in Intel Co. The project was to provide API wrappers based on their former architecture. My responsibility was on the board initialization process.
l IP Telephone
We used the DM3 IPLink voice board from Dialogic Co. to provide IP phone support. My work was focused on the security control and account management. My master¡¯s thesis was based on this project and some later work about IP telephony.
