About the CARES Laboratory
The Computer-Assisted Robot-Enhanced Systems (CARES) is part
of the Electrical and Computer Enginering Department and is
housed in the Engineering Building on Wayne State
University's main campus in the heart of Detroit.
We develop and test enhancements for robotic
applications that include medical, military, and space
exploration. Our researchers have expertise in areas
including augmented reality, robotic kinematics,
simulation, Raman Spectroscopy, hardware and software
development and human factors. We work closely
with local hospitals (Children's Hospital/DMC), NASA, and
the US Army to ensure that our research has a meaningful
impact. |
Mission Statement
To develop and apply Computation, Image processing, Sensors
and Robotics to improve Medical , Military and Space
Teleoperation Technologies. |
|
Community Outreach
The group supports First Robotics. |
