Our daughter, Keren, was born September 27, 2002, and she is a continual joy in our lives. Before she was born, we knew there was a possibility that she had a chromosomal disorder. This was confirmed a few days after her birth: Keren has Trisomy 18 (aka ÒEdwardÕs SyndromeÓ)—this means that her cells have three of the 18th chromosome rather than the typical two. The statistics of Trisomy 18 are overwhelmingly negative, but Keren has proved to be one of the fighters and continues to overcome the odds against her. You can learn more about trisomies and the children who have them at the following websites: http://www.trisomy.org/ , http://www.trisomyonline.org/ , and http://www.livingwithtrisomy.org/ .
The following are a series of letters that Loren wrote to friends and family during our pregnancy, and then the series continues with the birth and development of Keren. The series is a living series and we will keep updating this web page as Loren keeps on writing about the way God is working in our lives through Keren.
