Ellen Traschenko is an alumna  of  Wayne State University.  She earned her bachelor's degree in both English and Psychology, and her master's degree in English.  As an undergraduate, Ms. Traschenko completed two writing internships:  one for a United States senator and the second for a major medical center.  As a graduate student, Ms. Traschenko worked at the university's Writing Center and later as an Information Systems Assistant at a small company.

In addition to her academic training, Ms. Traschenko has extensive professional experience.  She has taught English at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, Marygrove College, Henry Ford Community College, Macomb Community College, and Washtenaw Community College. She also gained corporate training experience working as a computer software instructor.  Prior to accepting her current position, Ms. Traschenko worked as a Technical Writer for an industry leading computer software company.

As the Enabling Technologies Lab's Information Specialist, Ms. Traschenko is responsible for producing all the lab's documentation.  Her responsibilities include documenting projects created and distributed by ETL staff and students, writing and editing manuals, desktop publishing of promotional materials, researching, writing, and editing grant proposals, and documenting grant funded work. She is also the Webmaster for the ETL website.
