David Sant has a BS in Electrical Engineering
from Wayne State University and is the ETL Project Engineer.
He has been with the ETL since 1995 and
is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the laboratory.
Mr. Sant is an accomplished Windows programmer
specializing in the creation of accessible multimedia applications
as well as an experienced electronics
designer, having designed a variety of devices from radio frequency controllers
for musicians to specialized process controllers
(Erlandson & Sant, 1998) and computer-controlled data acquisition
systems (Erlandson, Sant, Nizio, Wiadnyana,
& Rippy, 1995).
He has written a number of successful applications
for special education populations that are used to promote
independence among students with disabilities.
As a student, he was part of a group that designed an accessible
computer-based science experiment for
the Detroit Academy for Science and Mathematics (Cooney, Rydahl,
Marigomen, Wassick, Sant, & Auusiem,
1994). Mr. Sant won the RESNA Easter Seals Student Design Competition in
1994.
