Torrant Center, Jackson ISD, Jackson, MI
The delivery car is designed to enable
a student who has difficulty carrying objects from one place to another,
a difficulty which limits the student's access and opportunity to participate
in pre-vocational training. The cart accomodates individuals with
similar difficulties by allowing the individual to push the lightweight
Creform cart which holds a plastic basket for carrying objects. The
design of this cart is also meant to provide stability for a student who
has difficulty walking due to tremors. The upright handles allow
the student to rest her forearms on the upper support of the cart.
The cart is hoped to allow for greater independence and enhanced participation
in prevocational training for the student.
Foam bicyle handle covers were used to provide a more comfortable handle
for the cart.
