Summary: BASF is the worlds leading chemical company. Our portfolio ranges from chemicals, plastics, performance products, agricultural products and fine chemicals to crude oil and natural gas. Sales in 2007 were €57,951 million. We employ more than 95,000 people world-wide and in 2007 spending on R&D was €1,380 million. Sustainable development is a core strategic guideline for BASF and as such we have a global sustainability organization and robust set of tools to measure the environmental, societal and economic aspects of products and processes. This presentation will provide a summary of sustainability organization at BASF and demonstrate how BASF and its customers use information from sustainability studies in decision making for product design and application.
